Blind-bag trading

Posted in Trading Post

I wish there was a site dedicated to trading blind-bag figures, because that would probably be a lot more straightforward than trying to sell and buy on eBay...but since there's not, I figured I'd ask here. Specifically, I'm looking for the Loki figures from http://www.hottopic.com/product/marvel- ... 31871.html and especially http://www.hottopic.com/product/marvel- ... 69187.html (although I'm also interested in a number of other blind-bag figures, like the female Lone Wanderer or Black Widow from the Fallout series, any MCU Thor, and the Stitch figural keychain).

For trading, I have the following blind-bag figures:
Marvel Villains, linked above: MODOK (3), Green Goblin (3), Ultron (2), rare Gold Ultron (1)
Micro Muggs: Ultron
Funko mini bobblehead: Galactus
Portal: tiger-striped sentry turret
Marvel Series 3 figural keychain: Deadpool

I have some other stuff too (various recent BAF parts, a couple Thor: The Dark World Minimates, Avengers Cosbaby figures, Age of Ultron Iron Man Funko Pop, Marvel Collector Corps pieces), but I figured I'd specifically list my blind-bag figures in case someone wants to do a more direct trade or anyone else is interested in a blind-bag trading thread.

I think you may as well hit up all the toy forums you can find and trade for them like you would any other toy. Totally cool if you want to start a blindbagged trade topic.

A site dedicated to trading blind bagged figures doesn't work because people don't trade them blindly. The first thing I see anyone do when they're at the store is squish the bag in their meaty paws to work out what figure is in the bag. The whole idea of not knowing what's in the bag is supposed to be the fun part of the hobby, but no one does that. People want specific figures, which means determining what's in the bag by feel or outright opening it, which defeats the purpose of collecting blind bagged figures at all.

A place dedicated to trading only figures that come from blind bagged lines would be neat though, if only to make it easier to find people to trade with. I'd like to think the social aspect of interacting with other collectors is also the attraction of those kind of lines, but my only experiences with them are tainted by scalpers lol

Right, I mean a site where people could list their opened figures for trade. openblindboxes.com looks pretty close to what I want, actually, except they don't do direct trades between users, and their catalog doesn't look very complete. And yeah, I tried to figure out what I was getting by feel but failed repeatedly, hence this thread.
