Help w/ Batwoman custom...Heads, Belts, Capes Etc!

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hey, I'm new to this forum, so let me know if I'm not posting right.
My first major custom project is going to be Batwoman, since she's a favorite character whom DC/Mattel doesn't seem to want to make (other than an old and expensive DC Direct one--she no longer looks like that) in a DCUC 6" style. I've looked at the excellent Batwoman customs on here, but my plan is to make her appear as close to the New 52 Batwoman as possible:

I'm gonna need some fodder to get this done right.
HEAD: I could possibly use the old DC Direct "52" series Batwoman head as a base. Anyone have that? As long as it scales right to DCUC...
The main thing is getting that horned mask just right. I've never really sculpted. A Marvel Girl head would be perfect, but that might be hard to find.
CAPE: Needs to big, flowing, and pointy. It should also be customizable to hang off two shoulder snaps, rather than around the neck.
BELT: Needs pouches. Tore off the belt from the Batgirl body I'm using a base because it doesn't even look close.
CHEST LOGO: Seems like it'd be hard to paint and I don't want rough edges on this thing...should I go with a decal? Who here does those?

Any help on the fodder or other tips? Thanks for reading.

So I realize this is you first major project but I am not really sure what your skill level at sculpting is but let's get this project started with some ideas!

Head: My thoughts were either a Star Sapphire Wonder Woman or a ML new Black Cat. WW would probably be the easiest to modify the mask. To do the more horned part, I would cut out the general shape of the mask with some plastic from an action figure bubble and glue it in the area it needs to be in. This will give you sort of a skeleton mask to sculpt around and give it support.

Cape: Not sure if you want to go plastic or cloth with this one. If plastic, I would recommend looking at DC Direct/Collectible Batman figures since they will be big on a female DCUC body. Cut the cowl portion of the cape, cut an opening and glue to her shoulders. Sculpt the snaps if you are looking for the look from your pic. Sorry if this is not clear, but it looks great in my head.

Belt: The easiest from what I have seen with the 52 pics of BW, I would say ML Maria Hill with a little sculpt for the buckle.

Logo: Not sure how raised you want the logo, but in the past, I have printed out the logo, place it on top of apoxie and cut around the edges. Once it dries, I sand down the logo until I get the size I want. If you have a printer, you can get some decal paper at hobby lobby or any store that sells RC kits.

Good luck and can't wait to see how it turns out!
