Major Arnold Toht (Indiana Jones - Adventure Series) Review
Major Arnold Toht
Indiana Jones - Adventure Series (Hasbro)The Adventure Series line lacks a lot of iconic baddies. There is a whole discussion that could be had about how do you market toys of baddies that were aligned with a certain fascist political party from 1930-40's Germany. I suspect this is probably a reason we didn't get characters like the German mechanic or Col. Dietrich from Raiders or Vogel from Last Crusade. Still their omission feels a bit glaring. We didn't even get any German soldiers or a Indy in a German uniform/disguise.

Fortunately, we did get Arnold Toht, one of the most iconic baddies of Raiders if not cinema history thanks in large part due to his grisly demise.

Toht doesn't come with a whole lot of accessories, but what he does come with makes for one of the better figures in the line. Toht comes with a pair of gloved hands by default, but he also comes with a hand featuring the burn from the headpiece of the staff of Ra. His hat is removable so you have some additional posing options there. He also as you might expect from a Gestapo goon such as himself, a Luger. Toht also comes with his signature trenchcoat. It's a large piece of rubberized plastic that just sits over his shoulders. It fits well and it adds to his sinister look and kind of makes him standout from the other figures in this line which has been referred to as the "Men in suits" line.

The most notable accessory however has to be the inclusion of an alternate head. You get the impression that the folks at Hasbro working on this line had a lot of fun with Toht because how often do they get to do something so gory and gruesome as someone's face melting?

It's sculpted and painted in grisly detail and even his white eyeballs can be seen behind his glasses (which are attached/fixed to his head).

Toht is almost essential for this line because there are too few other baddies for Indy to punch when so much of the line is other versions of Indy (reusing many of the same parts).
