Starscream (with Crown) Transformers - Heroes of Cybertron (Hasbro) - Wave 5 Rated 5.00 stars by somebody1 The less than loyal sidekick of Megatron. He is shown in this figure in this final moments from Transformers The Movie back in 1986 with his crown, shoulder pads, and the cape. Sadly the cape is molded purple plastic and not something more impressive like cloth. Like all of the Heroes of Cybertron figures the designs are taken from the animation designs of the show and are very accurate. The downside to these figures is the plastic is rather soft, such as Starscream's guns, and bends easily and many of them have to be assembled after removal from the package or work loose while handling and then become hard to keep into place. Articulation is usually at these points which loosens them even more. His POA are head, arms, hands, legs. Overall the paint job on the figure is really good with...[See More]
Bumblebee Transformers - Classics (Hasbro) - Deluxe Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1 Bumblebee's primary function in the original Transformers animated series and comics was to serve as the "young" character with whom the youthful viewing audience could identify, and he would befriend the Autobots' primary human ally - the young son of the Witwicky family (Buster in the Marvel comic - see issue #1 - and Spike in the cartoon) - to this end, a concept that persists into the 2007 live-action film. Although a well-known character because of this, Bumblebee is quite unusual in that, unlike many other Transformers, his name has not been re-used and applied to unrelated characters throughout the ensuing twenty years of Transformers media, due to the loss of the trademark until recently. His role as the "young yellow character", however, has inspired other Transformers characters...[See More]
Jet Bradley Tron (Neca) - 2.0 Rated 3.00 stars by somebody1 Jethro Eugene "Jet" Bradley is a fictional character within the TRON universe. He is depicted as the young adult son of Alan & Lora Bradley. He is featured prominently in both the video game TRON 2.0 & the comic book series Tron: The Ghost in the Machine. At the start of TRON 2.0, Jet Bradley works for the company ENCOM. He has a strained relationship with his father, Alan Bradley, based on several factors, including generational differences as well as coping with the loss of his mother, Lora Bradley, in a work-related accident. Events in the game force Jet to be teleported into the computer world. Once inside the computer world, he eventually befriends characters such as Mercury & Ma3a. With these characters, he eventually frees his father from imprisonment, prevents a rival company from...[See More]
Cliffjumper (Red) Transformers - Generation 1 (Hasbro) - Series 1 Rated 3.00 stars by somebody1 Cliffjumper was part of the original Autobot crew of the Ark. When the Autobots and Decepticons were reawakened, Cliffjumper was given the alternate mode of an Earth car. Cliffjumper and Hound were sent to scout out the location of the Decepticons. Although ordered not to engage the Decepticons, Cliffjumper took the opportunity to try to shoot Megatron, revealing their existence to the Decepticons. Because of this, Hound was blown off the road by Laserbeak - something that made Cliffjumper regret his impulsiveness. Hound, however, didn't blame him, quipping that he was only sorry he missed.
Cliffjumper's bravery was often a boon to the Autobots - as well as a problem. In the episode "Changing Gears", Cliffjumper's rash actions helped the Autobots get past a Decepticon force field and stop...[See More]
I like that the review is 2/3 character study. The toy just isn't that interesting on its own merits. I'd be remiss not to mention Casey Kasem's stellar voice work there, by the way.
Beachcomber Transformers - Generation 1 (Hasbro) - Series 2 Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1 Beachcomber first appeared in the television series episode "The Insecticon Syndrome", and continued to appear throughout the second season.
His most prominent appearance was in "The Golden Lagoon", he inadvertently brought fighting to a hidden lagoon full of electrum, which had an invulnerability property discovered when the Decepticon Thrust

coated himself in the golden liquid. This sparked a battle for control over the Lagoon that left the secret forested area a charred wasteland. Beachcomber, who showed his sensitivity for this once peaceful oasis was crest-fallen by the destruction that now laid out in front of him. As his Autobot comrades celebrated another victory...[See More]
Fumigator Trash Bag Bunch (Galoob) - Disposers Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1 One nice thing is she's nearly the same size as classic GI JOe figure so she can kick cobra commander in the nuts the bad part is she doesn't have the articulation to actually move her leg to do it. I actually prefer this figure in some ways to the full sized versions, especially the one from Advent Children, in that the detail and sculpt is better. I especially like her facial expressions. If you can find the Trading Arts figures at a good price I encourage you to get them as some figures just aren't going to make it to the full sized treatments sadly. She only gets a 4 out of 5 since there are larger versions of her....[See More]
Dr. Sheen Trash Bag Bunch (Galoob) - Disposers Rated 5.00 stars by somebody1 Not much to say about Fran other than this is the only figure they made of her so far aside from the over priced statues. She is one of the few Final Fantasy 12 characters not to be made even though I saw pics of one that must have been a prototype. This figure is like most Trading Arts figures in that they are small, detailed, and have no articulation what so ever. Also like everything Playarts produced the paint is very well done. Why Fran is smaller than most other figures in the line I don't know other than she seems to be styled after the old Super Deformed way they did the characters in the old games. I got her for a song on a website without having to buy an entire box set thankfully. She's a must for any Final Fantasy fan out there. Now we just need a petition going for Play Arts...[See More]
T-800 {Pescadero Escape} Terminator 2 (Neca) - Series 1 Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1 Basically the same body as the Man or Machine figure but with better articulation. The head, elbows, wrists, just below the knees, feet, and waist all turn with a very slight ability to raise his arms outward to his sides. He comes with a jacket that seems like it would come off but his arms have the sleeves molded on. The sculpt of the face is more arnold-like and the sunglasses, sadly, are molded on. He comes with the lever action shotgun but it is rather flimsy looking and badly painted. THe paint aps are good and I found no real issues with the figure quality wise. Again like the Man or Machine figure I'd have liked more accessories. A head with the glasses busted would have been a nice touch. The figure's jacket has the bullet holes on his back cut out and not just partially molded...[See More]
T-800 {Man or Machine} Terminator 2 (Neca) - Series 1 Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1 Not the most interesting of the T2 figures Neca put out it is a neat mix of Arnie and the endo skeleton. Articulation is poor with the the head, arms at the shoulders and right below the elbow of the expose endo, mid thigh and endo arm wrist being all that moves. The sculpt is pretty good but mine doesn't look as much like Arnie as the one in the promotional picture does so maybe it was the prototype. The paint aps are good and shockingly for once I found no real problems with a Neca figure out of the package. I would have liked more accessories with these figures though. Maybe an endo BAF or even key items like the endo arm and chip that were stored at cyberdyne. You get a single pistol with this figure which doesn't seem like much compared to other stuff. The good part is they have the...[See More]
T-800 {Endoskeleton} Terminator 2 (Neca) - Series 1 Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1 While it looks nicer than the McFarland T-800 it does have some flaws. It is missing articulation that I really liked in the McFarland, the arm on that one rotates at a point under the elbow like a real arm while the Neca version only has a wrist that rotates. The neat feature on this is that the jaw moves. I'm a little annoyed by the eyes, they look like they're rolling back into its head. The gun is a beefy thing that looks pretty accurate to the ones in T2 and even T3. The legs are held together with screws as is the main body, 2 instead of McFarlane's one, and the hoses didn't break off the arms when I opened it as they seem just a bit thicker. The paint job is bleh, seems like a simple wash and some detail work would spice it up. The figure comes with a spare hand to replace the one...[See More]
