I'd been waiting to see how you tackled Iceman and he came out great. Magnificent paint effects!

Great figure! I like the white lines you added to the legs. I didn't have shoulder pads on my Venom either as it hinders his articulation. I just carved the shapes into the shoulder balls and then painted it to look like shoulder pads.
Keep up the great work!

Wow! I can hear the theme tune and the opening narration in my head right now!
"Eric IS Bananaman!"
Great stuff. I'm delighted to see a custom of this guy. Makes me wish we could have customs of Auntie, Appleman and Doctor Gloom.

Thanks guys.
It'd be really cool if Mattel could release Freakazoid! I don't know how that would fit with DC but yeah, they could maybe spin off the line for an exclusive.
Free kazoo!

Ha ha, that's a good enough reason for me! Great line work writing the kanji nonetheless. Great figure all round.
Nice mix of parts and great colours. Longshot's head suits him!
Is there a reason you chose to write the kanji "God of Death" rather than "God of War" on his lapel?

I love the use of parts here. Great choices all round, and I really love the proportions. Great stuff.

This is beautiful. All the airbrush work with the blue on the torso really makes it work. I'm a fan of a very smooth Ultron, and I would normally think this is over detailed, but it really works. I love all the detail in his head especially.
Thank you for not slapping that Ultron glider head or the head off of Modern I'm's base on him.
Just beautiful.

They're totally sculpted. I searched through fodder for ages looking for something suitable as I didn't like the prospect of trying to get them symmetrical, but just had to suck it up and make them myself at the end of the day.

As ever, I love everything you do. The Jean Grey base works really well for her, and I love when there are story specific accessories included. Even if the Atlantean skinned book doesn't amount to anything you can look at it in the future and think back to the exact story that's inspired you to make the figure.
Absolutely love this custom!

Thanks everyone for the great comments. I really appreciate them!
I've updated the images so you can better see all the features he has.
@Bartoski - I'm not sure what you ask how I do that with articulation. What articulation are you meaning? I don't really do anything special in terms of articulation. I just keep away from any articulated parts and early in the preparation stage, fill all the peg holes so they don't get gummed up by a random slip with glue further down the line. I used magnets for the alternate heads and legs, and used SOTA SF pegs and sockets for the hands.
I swear by Games Workshop/Citadel paints.

Ah Ray, you're my absolute favourite customiser. Your paint work is second to none.
PS Your customs are a million times better than any factory made or store bought product!

YAY! First place!
Thanks to everyone who voted, and of course to everyone else in the contest. Looking at those scores it was really close!
I can now put this guy up on YouTube and my blog, etc. so make sure to check him out there if you want to see more.
Thanks again!
Oooh. This is nice.

I really like the Longshot head on him. I think it's a very versatile head with a nice expression, but it never clicked with me that it'd suit Xavier. Great stuff!
Tuesday, December 7, 2010
That's never been part of his design. The Doppelganger is a monster and not a man wearing a 6 armed suit. As mentioned in the description I wrote up, I look at it as being more like tattooed skin.

Yeah, she's a real Marvel character from the late mid-late 90's. She also turned up in Secret War in more recent years.
I would've entered the Gender Bender contest, but I won it last time, so I thought I'd give someone else a chance!

First of all, can I just say thank you for not using the Savage Dragon as a base. I hate that base as it goes totally against what the redesigned Drax is supposed to be, I.e. a muscular but svelte killer.
With that out the way, I love everything about this. All the parts match up amazingly well and you've really captured the art for the character well. The colours are really great and the Kratos head has the ideal expression.
Fantastic.

Thanks sir. Jane is very close to all our gay geek hearts.
I'd peel her a goldfish any day!
Thanks mate.
Yes, I did consider it, but in the end went with the standard.
I might add a mask that fits over her face at some point.

Wow Glenn! This is really amazing! You really pulled out all the stops for this one!
I have the old Vault figure of Stegron, and really that's all I know about the guy, but this is so much cooler. I really love the work on the face.
Wednesday, January 6, 2010
Excellent stuff! The colours are dead on (pun) the comic! Love it... and amazed that that's a Deadman head!
Saturday, January 2, 2010
I love all your customs Jazz. Any chance you could give us a little more info when you post about how you made the figure? It's especially amazing to see what figure you've managed to transform, rather than just "Marvel Figure."
Keep up the great work!

This is a nice custom...
but good lord! What is DD doing in that first photo?! Streetwise Daken and Streetwalker DD?
Friday, December 4, 2009
Amazing Glenn!
I love her make up. Can't believe that that was Black Cat (who I've always considered to be the Pauline Fowler of ML).
Her eyebrows are totally amazing... like Nina Flowers or something! And the snake accessory... wow.
Ringmaster has got his work cut out attracting attention away from her even with that hypno hat of his! The scales are beyond belief!

Not been on the site in a while, and this is a great suprise to come back to! I love Cloak & Dagger and seeing them spiced up with their Dark X outfits is awesome. Really nice work on bringing out those sculpting details with the deep, colourful paints.
Monday, August 31, 2009
YAY! I love Sorpia! Her and Catra must be a total laugh on a night out. Always a little suspicious when He-Man swung Scorpia into the melon cart in the Secret of the Sword. Now we know which way she swings.
I really like what you've done, and her colours are amazing. Love the tail especially!
I was recently delighted when I saw the new MOTU Classic Adora they're doing. I think your Scorpia could beat the crud out of her even when He-Man

Glenn, I KNEW he reminded me of someone, and I just couldn't put my finger on it. Sack, of course! I really cannot recommed this clay at all. If it took paint more and didn't go cloudy as it cured, then sure it'd be fine. As it stands, I think resin casting may be the only way to do transparent characters.
So many possibilities if I could get the technique down.

I really love this. The blending of sculpted material and the cloth really works. The texture of the cloth really helps the whole thing work. I love mixing media, and this has inspired me to use more textured materials to bring out realistic looks. Fantastic!

It was indeed the same bidder. His only real request was that Onslaught's gauntlets go far up his arms, so I just added the rest myself. I really love Onslaught and owe the story, for all its faults, for pulling me back into comics, so wanted to do the big guy justice.
I think I went a bit over the top with the effort I put in, but I was just having a good time!
You mentioned the Professor X reveal in the comments on your Onslaught custom and I just -had- to do it. I couldn't find the particular comic where Thor tore through Onslaught and freed Xavier, so worked from memory on how Onslaught's chest opened. Probably totally different from what I've done, but I'm just happy I could get the continuity nod in there.
And thanks everyone for the kind words.
I was going to use a wrestling figure ...
Wednesday, June 3, 2009
That came out REALLY well. All the fur looks amazing. Definitely need to try this to fill out my x-men collection.
Great figure of Martyr. Nice attention to detail on her emblem.
Friday, May 29, 2009
As a Scot, I'm obviously going to like this!
Good work and glad we inspired you.
Friday, May 22, 2009
Great work. The only thing I didn't like about the redesign was that unless his blades were telescoping then he wouldn't be able to use his elbows when they were sheathed, but I suppose that holds true for Wolverine at times too.
This is a great custom, and I really like the paint effects on the face.
I think the idea behind the face had to be an artistic take on his mask. It's hard for anyone to look at the Deadpool mask and not think Spider-man, so this take is, I think, a way to keep the 'only the eyes' approach of Deadpool's mask without actually going down the mask route (which I think the movies want to stay away from).
But anyway, I don't think this great custom should get overshadowed by movie vs. comic character discussions. Great work Glenn!!
Wednesday, May 6, 2009
Nice custom. Really nice to see you include Mary's unmasked head as well.
Sunday, May 3, 2009
Now here's a custom you don't often see. Great work, sir.
I really like the changeable hands you've given both him and Warlock.
You should put magnets in the Magus's hair as well, so that he can showcase all the heinous hair-dos he's had over the decades. Yes, I'm looking at you, soul-glow space afro!
Anyway, I'm a sucker for the cosmic powers, so I love this recent batch! Good job.
Can I just add more votes for Deadpool?
I think it's something to do with the fact that he is so popular online, and yet his comic keeps getting cancelled. If people would spend the money on his comic instead of on the customs he might actually amount to something in the Marvel Universe. Oh, and the moaning that's ensued about his treatment in the Wolverine movie.... (eye roll).
Sunday, April 26, 2009
Thanks gents. Now that I have them alongside my other customs they bring a smile to my face everytime I look at them, just cos they are so bright and happy looking, next to gritty Annihilus and Ultron.
chupacabra24 Thanks for the comments. I made Jack purposefully look a little simian for that cheeky monkey effect, so that's why his mouth is a little further down than the others. His hair is taken from the new Marvel Age Power Pack books, but I made it a little more real world as noone in my figure display is allowed to have anime hair.
Glennwebman69 & Ant Thanks guys. As always, much appreciated.
WingsCustoms Thanks for the info about Smeagol. I was really stuck for a tiny figure that had ML level articulation until I saw your custom of Gateway.
ARES-god_of_war Me? Cranking customs ou ...

Amazing attention to detail and knowledge of sculpting. I don't think I've seen anything of this high level in any figure before, custom or factory made.
Wednesday, April 22, 2009
I love all these large characters you are doing. I've often toyed with the idea of making Ego. I've seen him attempted once before I think.
Your's is a great rendition of the character. Good stuff.
Tuesday, April 21, 2009
Guys, not really that expensive when you've got good old Poundstretchers!
I love this Wings. The hot glue really works well for that icy look. Much better than trying to achieve the effect with paint. I'm loving all the hot glue stuff you've been up to with your recent customs.
Hmm, there's no way you can talk about hot glue without sounding like a perv really...
Friday, April 17, 2009
YAY! Slingers was one of my favourite books! (I always back the wrong book and it gets cancelled!)
Prodigy is looking great. That's a fantastic finish you managed to get on him.
Monday, April 13, 2009
Think they're about £15. Cheaper than Forbidden Planet, for sure.
I was thinking about seeing if they come down in price, then hoarding them for BAF sized customs.
Now there's a use for those wrestling figs that are popping up in Asda...
I really like the monstrous Onslaught, but I'm glad you made this version.
Thursday, April 9, 2009
I love this. I've always wanted to have an Eternity figure and your customs have really inspired me. I am awestruck by the head-dress. Fantastic.
Tuesday, April 7, 2009
Wow. Your Savage Land series keeps getting better. I don't know much about the Mutates apart from their appearances on the 90's cartoon, but you've really made some innovative use of parts and sculpted great looks onto them all.
Friday, March 27, 2009
I love it!
You totally beat me to it! I've been thinking about making this guy since I saw him in Mighty Avengers.
I also love that you have actually included his Stinger Gun at Pym Particle shrunken size in his belt! What attention to detail!
While his gun might be a quirky visual thing in the comic, I think it's just a wee bit daft as he's never needed one before to focus his stinger blasts. Then again, he's never dressed up as his ex-wife and used a robot of her as a butler/companion before.
Oh, Hank Pym, if only you could teach Wanda to be content and bonkers at the same time.
Friday, March 20, 2009
Hmm. I hate Kitty Pryde so I'm glad to see David Duchovny landing the role.
Thursday, March 19, 2009
Gasp! Herald snogging!
Galactus will have to crack down on his work force... especially after what I heard Airwalker and Firelord got up to in the lav at the Christmas party!
Great custom though! Your a braver man than me to tackle the Nova hair dilemma. You really managed to get the right firey effect though.
I always thought we would get a Frankie Raye Nova in the Marvel Legends series as it would've been a great way for the companies to make a plain female body that could spawn a thousand repaints. Alas, 'twas not to be.
Thursday, March 12, 2009
Do you mean the first Skrull Mockingbird that died and managed to return as the ghost of Mockingbird, or the Skrull Mockingbird that pretended to be the real Mockingbird escaped from the Skrulls then got gunned down by Clint Barton?
Ah, it's just too much of a mess to really think about.
Abomintrix and She-Thing should obviously turn up at Moondragon's, mid-morning, completely drunk and force her to drive them round the shops. They would then invite batty old Wanda along, who would invite Carol 'where's the mini-bar' Danvers and they would end up at a Hen Night they weren't invited to at all.
The headline the next day would obviously read; "Drunken, Shrunken Janet van Dyne Found in Murdered Male Stripper's Thong Elastic. Socialite blames "that Maximoff cow!"'
Clearly the mak ...
