Oh, 100%. I went into it more when I did the Instagram post for this one, but my love for Nadia and her solo series was one of the main reasons I want to do this display at all. Unstoppable did more to justify Hank Pym through Nadia's own struggles than the last few decades of comics.
Funny enough, the whole reason I went with it was because Hasbro showed off the Secret Wars wave around the time I was gearing up for it, which includes the same head as an alternate for the Black Suit. I actually briefly pre-ordered it, but then did some digging and found the head on Spider-Shot.
TBH, that probably would have been a better base, since I did have to fill in the slot they used for his pouches, but I still like how he turned out.

I found one by Citadel Paint, specifically the "Retributor Armor" spray.

Yeeeeesss, thank you! It's a lot of subtle stuff, but pulling down the thigh joint just that little bit fixes one of the biggest ongoing issues with a lot of McFarlane's figures. That little bit of height difference just changed the look of the whole torso.

This is such good work. The more natural curve of the wings, the amazing texture of the fire, and the amazing paint job all combine together to make a beautiful piece. Stellar work.

I only know because I actually bought that same figure to do a custom symbiote style Scorpion figure, and I made a point to get that specific head.
Really good work! for the record, the other head is from the Spider-Man series, it's the Mac Gargan Venom head. Works really well repainted, actually.

Arm detail is really nice. Good stuff.

S'all good. I'm definitely overthinking it tbf, and... I'll be honest, a lot is justification because it *really* bugs me we never got Cassandra in the Arkham series.

Thank you so much, appreciated
Right? It was one of those things... initially I was considering doing Titans Nightwing instead because ewww Batman and Robin (I'm not huge on Titans either, but they do have some pretty costumes), but like... the more I looked at the Redbird design, the more I was like... yeah, I think I'll actually do that. Movie quality aside, it's actually a decent midway point between Robin and Nightwing, and it pops on the shelf really well.
I think what killed it for me is that ultimately how unique the Batgirl outfit is. I don't love all of the Arkham series designs, but they did a good job of keeping everyone's outfits unique. Barbara's plating is similar to the AK Batman design (enough that I could believe they share the same designer/tech), but it's got elements that give greater mobility under the hips and shoulders that seem custom made for Barbara's fighting style. Reusing it works for Cassandra, because she has a similar need for mobility, and it'd make sense to just repurpose the existing Batgirl outfit.
For Kate, on top of generally needing to be more... adult in comparison to Babs (Batgirl isn't super young to be clear, but she has a very thin dancer's body which I don't think is appropriate for Kate, and it's har ...
Thank you, that means a lot coming from you! I'm pretty sure your last Emma custom was the inspiration for using the Sue Storm head, it really does work for Emma.

That base is real good for Phoenix. Good job!
I've seen other fans use that, Discowing, Disco Collar Nightwing, 70s Nightwing, and First Appearance Nightwing. I just find Disco Nightwing to be the most apt in this case, since TECHNICALLY I based him on The Brave and The Bold more than his appearance in the comics.

Nice and clean, real good job. White's a tough color to paint, any paint rub (especially from red/orange) really shows, but the edges are perfect.

There's no hard and fast rule on it. The idea is you're trying to rapidly cool the soft plastic in the correct shape so it "sets" for lack of a better term, but that should happen pretty quickly submerged in water.
We're probably way past the need for this, but I have that penguin and... it's fine for that, sort of? It is about the size of a mu figure and works fine for a live action Kingpin figure, but I'd say its a bit too... small for a comic kingpin.
So probably the best way to do this is to heat the plastic to make it more pliable, either with a heat gun or boil method, then quickly cool it using ice water or somesuch. Its not perfect, but it does help to cause the plastic to retain the correct shape.

For my two cents, I wish there was a way to blend the hands together practically. The length of the toy biz fingers is better, but the hand section is a bit too spindly, especially with the bulkier hasbro buck.
As for the heads, same thing. The straight repainted Carnage head is almost too Carnage-y, but the eyes on the toy biz one are a bit boring (I also think the red needs a bit of repainting to match the brightness of the body, but that's REAL nitpicky). I think the toy biz head with some of the... ugliness (for lack of a better term) of the carnage eyes might look better.

Hitting me right in the nostalgia, that's so cool

Saw this in my comment feed, not sure what you meant... did you mean which Green Goblin figure for the torso? if so, it was the Sandman wave figure. I had spare pieces from it anyway (I'd stolen the gloves and boots for Harry) and it gave me a bit more bulk than the Ghost Rider/Starlord torso would have.

Really nice. The paintwork is amazing.
The one thing I'll say with this one: you might be better replacing the antenna with Paperclips. I notice you had to pile on the sculpt on the ears, presumably for the weight. Paper Clips would be thinner and less heavy than the sculpted ones, and you probably wouldn't need as much sculpt to hold them in place.
Alternatively, if you're set on the triangular look, you could also try to cut plastic from a discarded figure box. It's not something I've ever done, but it's a classic customizer trick.
The Ant's one of my favorites from the game, love seeing him done on here.

Don't expect greatness the first time out. You can have all the best and fancy tools, follow every tutorial, but customizing is just like any other artistic hobby... you might be a savant right out of the gate, but expect your first customs to be mediocre. Get your feet wet with simple stuff first (simple repaints, simple part swaps, etc) before diving into any crazy nonsense that involves pieces from 5 figures and a sea shell. Also, if you get figures for BaFs or whatever, keep them. You never know when that one stupid Thor figure you've got buried in a box will have the exact belt or boot you need for something you want.

Hmmm... I'm not overly familiar with him but going off what I can tell from a google search I would look at Naruto for the upper torso (it's a bit bulky on the torso, but the zipper, jacket bottom, and arms are pretty similar and you can thin out the sides and back pretty well) though I'd look for another figure for the legs (rock lee if you want to keep to the same line, but plain pants are pretty basic)
There are some other figures that could also work, such as Master Asia from G Gundam (I've seen a decent tracksuit Gohan done with it) there's a tracksuit Bruce Lee, and if they make a DBS 17 the upper torso might work ok... but I didn't like the bulk of most of them. I'd also look into school anime figures, since I feel the arms and pants would match ok from a typical male school unifor ...

So the rough plan RN is that I have a 3d model with a hollowed out torso to use as the base, with magnets inside as space allows (discussions of a LED screen are being discussed, we'll see if that'll happen and how much room it'll take up). That's all gonna be a bit, but where I'm stuck right now is the joints.
While the attachment points will likely end with magnets on either end so I can swap them out, my plan was to have the joints be ball-hinge joints (similar to shoulder joints on an action figure) to allow for full range of motion. However, to match the look of the film with its oscillating energy between the sections, I'd LIKE to have those joints be clear so I can paint the energy lines by hand on top of them. The problem is that the Hobby Base joints that most closely resemble w ...

This is very good work. I'd love to see it in person, just to see how the paint looks.
Thank you! I've been working on it pretty much since posting Ben, it just took awhile to find a skirt that fit that didn't need massive reworking to fit well.
Really good work.

Nice job. Love the design.

Wanted to say thank you for this, came here to post something else and this response solved a problem for a custom I'm planning out that I was gonna worry about later.
Neither can I, tbh. It's one I've meant to do for years. So rediculous, I love that 'geddon brought her back.
I saw that while I was trying to figure out how to do mine. Not gonna lie, I prefer the bulk of yours, but the SL/Ghost rider sculpt was the only one that was even close to the same pants Ben has.
Also, as an aside, MAN was trying to get references tough. I ended up resorting to using a model from the mobile game just to get references.

Actually, Dabura was supposed to be about the same power level as Perfect Cell was. It was Toriyama's way of showing just how far the other Z-fighters had come... as well as how out of shape Gohan really was. Still, considering he hadn't really fought in years and was still able to fight the equivalent of Cell after a few months of training, clearly he wasn't THAT out of shape.

Sorry, I guess I didn't add the recipe with this one... same as with Ra's and Two Face, these are shrunken Movie Masters heads on Vortious Custom suit bodies.

See, I could almost live with the scale being slightly off (the MM line is also visibly shorter than the ML movie lines) but what always gets me is just how BAD these figures are. The ones I have pictured are the GOOD ones. And it's only the Batman line too... the MoS line and even the failed Green Lantern line (which I feel had more to do with the death of the DCUC than anything else) had some decent sculpts for pretty much everyone. If I had gotten even that level of detail with the Batman movie figures, I'd be content to just repaint them and wait for Mattel to redo the characters as part of the Multiverse line.
But no, I can't even do that, because Mattel has made the abominations of nature known as Scarecrow and Two-Face. I could live with Joker's body so long as I had a decent head, ...
I like this custom, but I think using the TT Wally head may have been a mistake... it's a bit undersized, especially for that big a buck. It works well enough though, and Mattel has certainly done worse on the "official" figures *looks disdainfully at the GL Sinestro figure*

It's actually a Mary Marvel head, surprisingly enough. I got the idea from another customizer named Raynir, who did a younger version of the Perez look using the same head.

Er... I don't want to take away from this guy's work (it's a solid custom job) but... that's the speed streak accessory from the YJ Kid Flash.
