Customs: The Warriors - Vintage Style by Hammer of the Gods -

Glad this made it to the most talked about status. Well deserved!
I appreciate that man. I've been away from the realm too long, getting my Hammer of The Gods Customs Facebook page and #HOTGCustoms Instagram up and running. Check me out at those locations but you'll be seeing more of me here.

Masterpiece customs! I think you have a great thing going with the Retro line: Mercy, the Orphans, the Rogues so many great characters to choose from! Can't wait to see more!
Those are all on my hit list! I took a little break to do some more "seasonal" horror work but I'll be back on the Warriors soon.

Love me some Thor so this has a special place in my heart. The issue where Loki tricks Thor into battling/killing Bor is one of the best cover to cover fight issues ever.

I love the Warriors colors you put on their vests. Great build!
Thanks - little stickers I printed up, cut out and then sealed to the vests with a clear poly-coat.

Waaaarioooors! Wow knocked it out the park w/this very bad@ss set! Is the leader's head Perseus from the original COT?
Good eye! I did use Perseus' head to make Swan.

Thanks guys. The Firefly/Malcolm figures in these pics are actually for either Hi-hats or Punks figures - haven't decided yet, as both gangs are on my list.

These are amazing. The vests are absolutely beautiful. I am super stoked for this project of yours. Great job.
I made all the vests at once and should have taken a pic of them. It looked like a little leather shop in my work area.

Surprisingly just saw this flick for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Great movie. Awesome group here and they all look like the actual characters.
Wish I could go back and see it again for the first time...

Agreed! And the fight after doesn't disappoint. Brilliant editing and you can actually tell what's happening.

Love this!!..I remembered your excellent rendition of your Warriors customs from years ago. Throwback classic
I need to finish that 6" set at some point. They are proudly displayed at home but incomplete without the last 5 members. At $10 a pop, these are easier to purchase and customize.

Wow dude! Vintage toy done right! I love this bug eyed chick. You really did capture her Marvel comics look perfectly. Sectaurs is one of my favorite mostly forgotten 80s toy-lines, along with Inhumanoids, LJN Dungeons and Dragons, Dino Riders, Battle Beasts, Robotech... Now if I could just find a MIB Hive Playset for a decent price! Beautiful work!!!
A man after my own heart. Can never have too many Sectaurs fans. I don't have a MIB Hyve but do have a complete loose one with a nice box. Good enough for me.

Cool, she looks pretty like She-Ra.
Adora was the base so she has some She-Ra in her DNA.

She looks like she was bought off the toy aisle, really great job capturing the feel of the line.
Thanks man - can't seem to shake the 80s vibe that has grabbed hold of me lately. Gotta go where the creative inspiration winds are blowing though.

Dude I love this custom , not only is unique in your own style but rare from a not so well know character (witch makes her even better!) , as a collector , I know the drive to get as much a complete set as possible can get frustrating , but luckily my friend for both you and I (and so many others) have found that WE have the desire and skill to bring those rare items so hard to get (almost impossible sometimes!) and create OUR OWN versions (granted sometimes good , sometimes bad , but always out of love!) and do them as many times as we want , honing our skills to the point that we can do way better toys than the companies and they are ONE OF A KIND , like his Fantastic piece brother and that is PRICELESSS!!!
 You totally get me.

That's super sweet mate!!, love the way she fits so well with the other sectaurs, really shows they were indeed ahead of their time. Flawless sculpt work too!!
Totally under-rated toy line. I think their quality (unique sculpts on every figure - zero parts reuse, unique weapons and companion bugs with either action features or were huge ridable hand puppets) drove a high price point and that is what kept parents from buying - ultimately killing the line after just one wave. Luckily that wave was pretty huge.

Thanks for tip on the fur...I tried cutting it with scissors once for a custom, it was a disaster. Mb one day there be a throwback contest only using Remco bases ..that would interest..This is a great custom & backstory
Fur is tricky business. I learned the cutting tip from a pro puppet maker in LA.

Man, he looks cool.
I could see him as an Npc for Skyrim.
I'm familiar with that game but have never played it. Sounds right up my alley though.

Not too long ago I had my first exprience customing on 80's vintage figures in the cheapo contest. I must admit I had a fun learning exprience because it was nostalgic and I had to use more of my imagination to create on something that was very basic. Awesome job
Just saw your Beach Bum Barry and Scorpion & Sub-Zero! All are amazing.

Thanks. If you want to reclaim some of that Remco magic, I can't recommend getting some Realm of the Underworld figures enough. They've replicated the Remco bucks but are taking things to a new level with glow in the dark, clear figures and flocked figures and a whole new set of characters. They are even starting to tease wrestling figures. It's like Remco is back in business.

Thanks guys. Compared to most of my stuff, these are really basic - but that is kind of the trick. It would be really easy to add too much detail and blow the illusion that these are 80s era figures.

I know, right? All of Imperial's beast steeds are really well done for their era. I love the Rhino best but always thought he would have looked better in gray. Finally got the nerve to do it when this Hercules arrived.

This concept is kinda ridiculously perfect. It should fail on all levels but every time I see a new figure I find myself cracking up and marveling at the design and execution. I finally had to comment. Keep them coming.

Customs: Thor: the Revenge by fastfreddie -
Tuesday, November 18, 2014
I haven't been keeping up but I'm just getting back into the realm. You know I have an unhealthy love for Thor and this custom is just amazing. Like you, I realize what would happen if when a super powered alien raised on a farm met up with a super powered alien/god raised in the arts of war, with thousands of years of battle under his belt. Thor wins every time.

Hey Lily27. Looks like you just joined the forum and this is your first post. You honor me. I'm not ready to part with any of my Labyrinth customs just yet. I'm on mission to make all the really notable characters from the film but perhaps when I'm done and moving to my next challenge we could work something out. PM me sometime.

ANOTHER MASTERPIECE! I'm blown away by your accurate, beautiful renditions of these cool characters from Labyrinth!
Amazing works-of-arts, dude...truly inspirational!
Thanks - I have some fun stuff coming up to start building out the "darker side" of Labyrinth inhabitants.

H.O.G. your expanded labyrinth figures do not disappoint! Great original sculpt work on Hoggle! Beautiful work!
Thanks - not as detailed as the Neca figure but I recon that is forgiveable since mine is half the size of that figure and was sculpted actual size (pretty sure the Neca version was sculpted big and scaled down mechanically).

I gotta say, brother, that I was working on a custom where I needed to sculpt over most of a Star Wars Ewok figure, but I left it on the side for now as I've been working on other projects (& not to mention that all the sculpt work can be intimidating at first ). Seeing this beautiful work-of-art has truly inspired me to tackle that project once again. Thanks, bro.
It's hard working at this scale but pretty gratifying when it works out! What character are you working on? Something from Willow or the Hobbit, maybe from Legend?

WOW!!! The entire figure is amazing, but his face is mind blowing!!! Another masterpiece to your collection and specially to FigureRealm.
Thank you so much for sharing...
Thanks man. Knock on wood but I'm on a sculpting streak right now, as I got this head sculpted right on the first pass just like the Ludo head. I'm learning to take my time with it, building up the features in layers - curing as I go.

This is cool as well, great use of the wrestling fig and all that sculpting at this scale id phenomenal!! Jaw dropping work dude!!
Glad you dig it man. I had to carve the hell out of that WWE fig! Just being patient and getting a Salacious Crumb at some point would have probably been easier. Nuthin' good comes easy though, right?
