Before I saw the movie, all I heard about was how they ruined the Mandarin. I watched the movie, was loving the portrayal, and then we got to the twist. And I laughed heartily. I loved it. It was unexpected, made sense in the story they were telling, and meant nothing about ruining the character. The door was obviously open to revisit him properly later. Which they did end up doing in Shang Chi. And I didn't really care for that version, either. But I liked this early version enough, even on rewatch, that I really wanted to go back and make him. And that brings this particular run to a close!
